In this 10-week course we will read, discuss and draw inspiration from a range of exciting work from British and Irish contemporary women poets. Each week you’ll be given in-depth learning resources, prompts to generate new poems, and constructive feedback on your own work.
This workshop for women and nonbinary folk, tutored by award-winning poet and creative writing lecturer Kate Potts, is designed for poets with some experience seeking a more in-depth creative engagement with contemporary poetry by women.
The workshop will take place in a flexible online workspace to facilitate access for a diverse cohort, including poets with work and caring commitments and those living outside the UK. You’ll be able to access original video and reading materials, participate in group chats, and complete writing assignments in your own time, before sharing your work with others via weekly posting deadlines. Please note, this course was previously advertised as live Zoom sessions but will now take place in Google classroom.
