The Forest Inspires with Cheryl Burman

The Forest of Dean certainly does inspire! Congratulations to Forest author Cheryl Burman for her shortlisted place in the annual Historical Writers Association short story competition. Her tale, Who can believe in witches? is  based on the true story of Ellen Hayward, tried for witchcraft in Littledean Magistrate's Court in 1906. Read all the results here.
Ellen's story is also the inspiration behind Cheryl's award winning novel, River Witch. As part of Gloucestershire Library's month of supporting NaNoWriMo, you can join Cheryl in an informal chat about her various books, mostly Forest inspired, at Cinderford Library on Fri 10 Nov 6 pm.  Book here
And if you're looking for some inspiration to get on with your own novel, Cheryl is holding a two hour workshop also at Cinderford Library on Fri 17 Nov 5 pm on the basics of getting that novel done.  Book here
Both events are free, but please book to reserve a place.
