Hawkesbury Upton Literature Festival Talks are single-venue, single-panel events, held every few months in a lovely, intimate, light and airy venue, each one with four authors sharing the stage to talk about a particular topic. The June HULF Talk is on Holiday Reads providing the opportunity to "travel by book" through the pages of the guest authors' novels, set all over the world. Among the featured authors is Kate Frost, this year's GWN prose judge. Usually about a third of the audience are other authors, so it's a great place to network with fellow writers of all kinds, as well as to hear about the books and the writing lives of the speakers. The events are always informal and great fun, with lots of discussion with the audience and to enjoy refreshments on the theme of the afternoon!
Admission is by advance booking only, for £5, to include those refreshments (before, after and during the talk - we're very generous!) plus a £2 book voucher valid at the event against one of the speakers' books.
